Communication Method or Effective Communication or Communication Skills are such subjects that has been properly researched and several authors have stuffed volumes of pages to clarify all the nitty-gritty involved in communication and to clarify to the world how one can and should communicate with others or group of people. A simple Google look for "Effective Communication" generates forty four million pages. However, I think that the communication process as a full is governed by certain myths and misnomer. We are making ready this write-up to touch upon a number of those myths and offer clarity.

1) Language is essential for effective communication process - In India; we tend to speak more than 18 recognized languages. Have you ever puzzled how will a Kashmiri local communicate along with his fellow citizen from Southern half of India or our Marathi Maanus (native from Maharastra) communicate with different country men from Japanese India? They don't use common language to speak with one another or to express their thoughts. Nevertheless, they communicate effectively, if not efficiently. Your ability to browse, write and speak any particular language or list of languages comprises solely 10% of communication method and the balance of ninety% of communication process consists of your body-language, facial expressions, message, context, complexity or simplicity of the message (words, terminologies, and jargons used in the message), listening, perceiving, deciphering and giving feedback. How efficient or inefficient you are throughout the 90% of the communication processes makes the communication method either effective or ineffective.

a pair of) Effective communication suggests that your ability to speak in English Language - Do you know how will the Premier's of world's top three economies (President of China Hu Jintao; Prime Minister of Japan Yukio Hatoyama and President of USA Barack Obama) communicate with one another on world forum? Mr. Hu Jintao and Mr. Yukio Hatoyama have very limited understanding of English language and Mr. Barack Obama isn't known for his proficiency in Chinese or Japanese language. It's an understatement for our generation to use "effective communication" and "proficiency in English language" as synonym. You can't create a defense by saying that the English may be a widely used language for communication, as a result of it is not. Chinese is the widely used [add language] for communication purposes, followed by Spanish at range 2 and English at range three. It is also interesting to note that the quantity of folks that use Chinese for communication outnumbers the whole number of individuals that uses Spanish and English combined. There are various outstanding individuals, head of states, historians, and alternative celebrities who are terribly effective and influential in their native language, be it French, Italian, Hindi, Arabic or any alternative language, but they're not good with English language. Does this mean that they are not effective communicators or they need deficiency in their communication? English isn't the only language used for communication but is one amongst many different languages used for the purpose.

3) Ability to put in writing and speak proficiently qualifies you as an glorious communicator - If you write well in any language then you'll become a author and if you speak well in any language then you'll be able to become a good speaker or orator but that does not qualify as an excellent communicator. What will you are doing with your ability to jot down flawlessly and speak fluently when whatever you write is a piece of irrelevant nonsense and no matter you speak is senseless rubbish? Communication is not just regarding speaking and writing. It's concerning understanding the message, context of the message and time of communication.

four) What you communicate isn't as vital as how you communicate - There's a difference between being a communicator and being a spokesperson and the key difference is connected to the possession of the message. After you communicate, you know what you are communicating, you are taking-up the responsibility and you furthermore mght offer clarification, if required. Subject material experience is important. Verifying your statistics is important. Taking on the ownership is critical. When you're a spokesperson, you pass-on the message ready by others and aren't in a very position to supply any clarification and enhancement.

5) Folks holding command over two totally different languages cannot communicate efficiently - Language is one in all the modes to communicate and fortunately, it's not the sole way. While communicating, your message, body-language, facial expression and confidence level, ought to sync to make it an efficient communication. Recently, I visited a laundry shop to test the cost. I will communicate in three languages however the shop-owner did not recognize any of those three. Yet, we communicated, verified our message, gave feedback to at least one another and gave acknowledgement of acceptance of message. Communication across languages and cultures is potential, provided we have a tendency to minimize our self-created hurdles. If I attempt to not to understand or settle for the message then doesn't matter what language or mode of communication the opposite person uses, I will never understand. It's a lot to do with the willingness and need of both the parties concerned in communication process.

vi) "No communication" is sweet communication - In our personal life in addition to in work-life we tend to ignore or curtail many requests for communication. We tend to assume that it is sensible to not respond to a particular message. We tend to hold the knowledge that is supposed to be passed-on to people up or down the hierarchy. "No response" or "No communication" or "No feedback" is not considered as good communication however this in turn strangles and complicates many workplaces furthermore family relations that actually require frequent exchange of messages for its very existence.
