Are You an Entrepreneur or a Ceo

Many individuals really confuse being an entrepreneur and being a CEO. They assume they're the same issue, but over the years I've learned that they're really 2 VERY different things.
An entrepreneur incorporates a mind that is creative. Entrepreneurs are full of ideas, they are eager beavers - and they are typically arduous to "control." There are exceptions, of course. But all entrepreneurs tend to own that "pioneering" streak in them - and that they never really lose it.
When an entrepreneur starts a business, he/she is the CEO by default. But many entrepreneurs are not similar temperament to remain the CEO over an extended period of time. (I will explain why in a minute.)
Thus after their company gets some success, several entrepreneurs rent a "skilled CEO." Then the entrepreneur assumes a completely different and a lot of targeted role, doing what she does best. The role might be in promoting, inventing, creating, innovating...or it might be technical in nature.
After all, there also are many entrepreneurs out there that have proven to be nice CEOs. Each day, I work arduous to be that entrepreneur-turned-great CEO (and I should say that I've done a reasonably sensible job at it so far). But it will need a ton of concentration!
That is as a result of a CEO is largely a manager. A CEO should have a talent for building organizations, structuring, overseeing the main points, watching the financials, and normally keeping the corporate within the black.
Conjointly, a CEO's job is to stay the corporate moving forward. The one biggest responsibility of a CEO is to create "shareholder value."
And the very fact is, most entrepreneurs do not need to consider shareholder value. Typically an entrepreneur simply needs to paint on the canvas - not worry concerning selling the painting, advertising, and fulfillment. Often the last thing an entrepreneur desires to do is determine how abundant to charge for his or her masterpiece thus the company makes a profit and doesn't go broke!
One of the most important variations I have personally witnessed between an entrepreneur and a CEO is that this: the entrepreneur is FULL of new ideas and is raring to implement them, whereas new concepts are the things of nightmares for a CEO. New ideas challenge structure and organization, and they can mean an entire lot of additional and tedious work for a CEO.
After all there are various entrepreneurs-turned-CEOs who can do both. Generally a "start-up" kind of CEO will be creative and filled with ideas, but still have the terribly structured mindset of a smart business person.
So an entrepreneur-turned-successful CEO is still an artist - but business is his art. Real artists never paint with the selling worth of the painting in mind. Real artists paint to satisfy an inner need.
