Movie Reviews on appearance at the romantic drama Veronica Decides to Die. This is often a terribly well made drama, starring the stunning Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) as a young lady Veronica Deklava, in an excellent job, with a great family behind her, who simply decides she desires to commit suicide. She is bored with the route her life is going towards, and is expecting to continue in her job until she meets a man, they get married, anon he has an affair, they need an argument, she forgives him, it happens once more, but this time she is just too tired to trouble to confront him about it - this is often how she sees how her life can pan out.
She sorts a suicide letter for her folks, and takes an overdose of several pills, fortunately for her she does not die, however evidently is taken to a psychiatric treatment centre, purchased by her parents, which is headed by Dr. Blake played by David Thewlis (The Big Lebowski), who looks surprisingly similar to David Wenham, Dillios in 300.
When she comes round, Veronika is disappointed her try to commit suicide failed to succeed, and is dreading having to determine her oldsters and having to explain to them the doable reasons behind this suicide try; or indeed to accommodate the globe at large (she works at a bank that's well known in her native community, and an investigative journalist finds out she made the try and tracks her all the way down to the treatment centre so as to make a scoop), when she still has the identical feelings towards her existence.
Matters are any sophisticated when she is told the dosage of pills she has taken has caused her to possess a heart attack, that resulted in an aneurysm that's obtaining larger, and although her suicide attempt failed, she does not have long to measure, and there is no way of treating it.
Veronika begins to contemplate on what she would really like to try to to seeing she incorporates a very short time left. At 1st she is nonchalant on the thought of doing something while she waits to die, till she meets a fellow psychiatric patient Edward played by Jonathan Tucker (The Black Donnellys), who Blake has been attempting for your time to get him to speak with the individuals around him (he simply will not talk, and seems to live in a dream world existence, watching nature, insects, and just spending time alone). Blake would consider this his crowning achievement if he can break through Edward's problem.
It turns out that Blake finds out Veronica used to play the piano when she was a kid, and strategically places the piano in a very place where she cannot miss it. One day she walks past it, presumably feeling bored, she at initial tries out the keys of the piano with some random faucets, then plays a lovely classical tune, that enchants Edward (who was listening nearby), she notices him watching her taking part in the piano, and therefore the attraction builds (still with Edward not speaking a word).
As Veronica begins to fall for Edward, it then begins to dawn on her the enormity of what she goes to miss.
Veronica Decides to Die is a very fascinating drama, and this movie has solid acting throughout.
