Youngsters's birthday parties are supposed to be extravagant and a production. If you're the one doing the planning this could be a daunting task. The last party I threw was a Toy Story 3 party thus that's the theme I will be talking about.
1. Plan Ahead - I favor to begin designing for a party at least 3 weeks ahead if not 4. If you are shopping online you may want to increase the time therefore everything arrives on time. I begin my planning with categorizing the party. I separate it into 4 departments: food, games, decorations, and theme. Every category has it's own list of to try and do's and I usually tackle decorations and theme first.
