Before I buy too deep into this subject, let me 1st establish myself. I was a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in Minnesota ever since the licensing came out, and before that a Certified Counselor in over 40-states and 13-countries). I worked in the field for twenty years, in cluster counseling, individual counseling; with women at the prisons, in clinics for twin disorders, having a degree in psychology moreover, and in child development it helped me as I worked on the youngsters's ward. I've written 3 books on the topic of alcohol and its effects; on the prevention of it; one on the aftercare of it, and on its origin. I do realize we tend to all have our own beliefs where this disease comes from, and simply how it relates to ladies's cancer; that might even be a secret from the general public, however if it's, it is as a result of no one has looked terribly deep into this issue or problem. Typically we are too busy with matters, you recognize what I mean: too many hands in the pudding, will bitter the pie. On balance, this is often the first article I'm doing since my retirement in 2001. After I used to provide lectures to groups, be it ladies, men or kids at faculties, clinics, hospitals (Ramsey Hospital, River hills Hospital, Hawthorn Institute, etc; faculties in St. Paul, Minnesota) and adolescents, I'd invariably modify my lecture to suit the cluster, that is what everyone does I assume (or should do): why? Because we are all different, and our body reacts differently to substances; we have a tendency to have what you call completely different triggers; resistance capabilities; as groups that is; as individuals we have a tendency to have what I call, hang ups, or self-esteem problems. Additionally, such things as: depression, anxiety, resentment, fears, inferiority. We are all dealing with a mess of problems at any given time; they're mixed with: religion, egotism, and shame. We relapse, drink more, and take more medication per the environment, our social standing, or availability of money. And now the group comes into play, and therefore the individual, and her background.
Life isn't easy is it, especially in recovering, or operating with those with dual disorders--or with those drinking normally which will not stop. When I say dual disorders, I mean those crippled with alcoholism and perhaps depression, or anxiety, etc.
Alcohol or medication, in particular alcohol for this text, is a poison. That's why your system rejects it, vomits up. It belongs beneath the hazard category. We do not want to seem at hashish, opium, cocaine, or morphine, let me add heroin in it, alcohol will the duty quite well. And like poisons do, they paralyze the body like hemlock (prussic acid).
It's clear, individuals that drink a ton don't live long, and drug addicts do not grow old. And now for the Cancer: and girls who drink a lot for a few reason get cancer a lot of quicker than their counterpart, males; or girls who don't drink a lot. This can be not a cleaver place down for girls, it's a reality, go check it out. I have seen it within the AA conferences, and clinics and hospitals. For women as they progress in their drinking stages working their manner to the chronic stage will acquire cancer quicker than males, or those ladies who do not rely on it. Ladies and men are equal in several things, but during this you girls are ahead people, I dare say.
Another purpose is ladies and men who go into a clinic for treatment, girls can heal quicker than men, and leave in the twenty eight-to-30 day program; whereas men can stay a lot of longer, not dealing with the depression, or other issues they'll have. Once more I say, it is a reality, I've seen it. Thus, we have a tendency to get a lot of suicides from men than girls on this issue.
But back to the premise, my therapeutic view is: stop drinking, merely as that. You do not would like the stuff, or do you? And if you do the only reason I ever gave my shoppers to use was for suicide. Let me reframe that. If you feel you're visiting commit suicide, then use, and find help, because you're committing suicide anyhow--slowly, by drinking, but a minimum of you've got a moment longer to think about it, or get help.
