A Victorian nursery rhyme says "Sugar and Spice and everything nice, that's what very little girls are created of." Hosting a Sugar and Spice Tea Party could be a nice way to have a heap of fun while pretending to be grown up. Children will help with preparation activities such as like making ready finger sandwiches, decorating cookies, to arranging flowers as place markers at the table. Guests will be invited to bring dress up clothes or vintage vogue hats or, alternatively the hostess will furnish a choice of dress up items (study your local Goodwill for some nice items at very little value).
The dressed up ladies could relish taking part in a very treasure hunt. The hostess hides a jewelry box full of previous fashioned costume jewelry (brooches, necklaces, bracelets, etc.) - the right fashion accessories for the dress up game. Then, provide riddles or poems to help the youngsters work out where the things are hid. Each clue takes them to another, and to a different, and so on. For instance, a beginning clue could be one thing like: "Welcome ladies, a treasure you will notice, if you follow all the clues that I have left behind. Ring! Ring! Hello? If you need to search out the phone, where would you go?" After all the guests will head straight to the nearest phone where another clue tag hangs waiting for them. Alternative clue hiding locations could be in plants, beneath chairs, behind photos, in the garden, anywhere within or outside that you'll be able to suppose of. Make the clues straightforward enough the guests will notice them quickly and have enough clues to run around having fun. Finally, have them notice the jewelry box and then they'll all put on jeweled accessories to travel with their hats and dresses! Or, alternatively, you can have varied plastic gems, trims, and other shiny decorative things in the jewellery box and then have basic wood cutouts with jewelry pins attached on the rear of them. The guests will design their own jeweled treasures by gluing stones, trims, laces, and other shiny things onto the picket form cutouts. Every guest then has a nice souvenir of the Sugar and Spice Tea Party afternoon. Once they have their proper accessories, it's time for the fashion show. Put on some music, create a run means and watch them model their fashions. Taking digital photos will enable you to send every of the young ladies home with footage of their modeling debut.
One last game that's fun and simple to set up is a tea cup relay. Divide the guests into two teams. Place a tea cup on a table behind each team of guests. Give every guest their own sugar cube to hold. Then, offer one team member a tea spoon (the smaller it's the harder!). Every member can place their sugar cube on the tea spoon and run the relay race track without touching the sugar cube with their hands (if it falls off, they'll use their hands to choose it keep a copy). Then, once they come back to to the beginning, they drop their cub into their team's teacup and pass the spoon to the next member in line. 1st team that gets all their cubes in their teacup wins.
Finish the Sugar and Spice afternoon off with a sit down tea party complete with cups, saucers, contemporary flowers, and some sugar and spice cookie treats. This party can be one each of the guests bear in mind for an extended time. Relish!
