Drug abuse is rampant and therefore the drug of alternative is changing. The onslaught of abuse of prescribed drugs is being done by teens and young adults by the thousands, if not millions.
Therefore, will this new drug of alternative be stopped? Besides taking prescription pills out of drugs cupboards of oldsters and grandparents, how does one stop the sales from the road venders? Is it the provider whom we have a tendency to want to stop - or the buyer?
Well, there's the law of offer and demand. Cut back the demand and therefore the suppliers go elsewhere hunting for buyers. However how do we tend to cut back the patrons when the employment of those prescribed drugs is finished in secret?
Will education facilitate? Not completely. There are not any gross footage to demonstrate the results of abusing prescription drugs - unless you show them a dead body. As a result of several suppose they are infallible to having the medication do anything real dangerous to them, they do not heed the warning of do not take alcohol with prescribed drugs, especially pain pills.
Does peer pressure facilitate to prevent it? Really, that's what's obtaining most of the kids and young adults to participate within the "drug parties" where prescriptions are thrown into a bowl and folks opt for them like they'd candy. There's a lot of peer pressure to participate in taking prescription pills, than trying to speak a person out of it.
Dose a parent's discussion with their teens help avoid this problem? Not likely. Why? Because the discussion is concentrated on educating them regarding the dangerous effects of abusing the drugs.
Therefore, what is missing? Giving the teenagers and young adults an alternative.
I am talking regarding providing a positive, uplifting, long-term solution. It's getting them concerned in learning how to set up for their future and take responsibility for his or her lives and get on my feet for what is right.
Suppose of it this way. If the person has an awesome future to appear forward to, has short-term goals they can work on virtually each day, and they are totally excited about their life and where they are stepping into life and see all the doable things that can happen for them, then they won't need to mess that up by abusing drugs.
Yes, I know that most teens (and even adults) do not recognize what they want to do with their future. But what about their life at this moment? What are they passionate regarding? What is it that gets them totally turned on and excited when they do it? It might be a sport, some activity at college, some special project they've been wanting to do, or some cause that they believe in and would love to get involved in.
You see, a person wants not only a reason not to abuse drugs as a result of of the dangerous aspect effects... however they conjointly want a reason not to abuse medication because they do not need to mess up this fantastic future they have, or this awesome project they are excited to be involved in.
If you're a parent, help your kid discover what their passion in life is. After all, you can most likely walk this same path as you work together to uncover each of your passion in life.
If you're the one abusing medication, take a couple of minutes to write down down what excited you in life. If you had all the cash and time and necessary skills, what would you are doing along with your life? What is the BIG dream for you?
Can drug abuse be stopped? Yes. It all starts with one person. Maybe you.
