Nineteen years ago I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. The MRI gladly determined why I had gone blind and could not see a darn thing. Graciously my doctor at the time said, there's not a lot of we can do for you and sent me home.
Admittedly yes, medical advancements have return an amazing long method since I was diagnosed. Such medicine as Rebif, Copaxone, and Avonex have modified individuals's lives. Rather than slipping down a mountain of despair individuals have received a life line in hopes of maintaining the quality of life.
However doctors don't have the answers to everything.
Long time ago I learned one thing from my mother that to the current day follows me and for that I'm terribly glad.
My mother invariably and I mean continually questioned and researched each decision a doctor would advise for her. If a doctor thought she required a surgery she would second guess and research, read, and talk to alternative doctors until she felt confident about her decision. I forever thought this was smart. But later I learned just how good this was once I became an adult with my own set of health questions and concerns.
However sadly not everybody thinks this way.
Alternative people may suppose that doctors are gods; they are those who can fix the problem. That they don't need to try to to much and also the doctor can give me something. Or the doctor offers them a diagnosis that they contemplate a "death" sentence. All questioning, hope, and future are erased. The doctor's word is considered almost "God" like.
Do not get me wrong I'm not attempting to sit down and cut on doctors. Yes doctors are an important half of this equation but one thing is missing. What's missing is that doctor's treat diseases but don't heal them.
As complicated as you will suppose this is, it's entirely up to you to figure out the way to "heal" your disease.
Doctors treat the physical manifestations of the symptoms that occur, but have you ever ever questioned why these physical problems are gift? I believe that our body is a perfectly designed, however under circumstances it becomes unhealthy. Environmental, Stress, Emotions, Physical all play into our health and simply how fine the line is between these factors and why we tend to become ill is however to be completely understood.
Doctors are there to treat us, however my belief is we must take responsibility for ourselves. They are not healers and solely we will heal ourselves.
Doctors don't heal but rather treat.
Thus the next question is, simply how am I going to heal myself"
It starts with searching. Searching for information and people who have healed themselves.
Several years ago I used to be given the video of a woman, Dr. Lorraine Day a doctor who was dying of breast cancer. Dr. Day refused treatments of chemo, radiation, and mutilating surgery. She then devised her own "healing" regime and became cancer free. I strongly encourage you to follow over to her website and see how she believed in "healing" and "conquering" a disease.
Having multiple sclerosis is a journey. A journey of self discovery, finding bumps along the way and figuring out the way to avoid them. A journey of discovery about yourself, your self-image, who and what you believe in and therefore the strength within your heart.
