These days it is commonly alleged that Sodom was destroyed for homosexuality, however the Bible in the first languages, plus alternative literature of the days, states that the explanation was the sexual union of disobedient angels (known as "The Watchers") with humans.

The 2nd c. theologian Tatian, a pair of Apology 5, stated, "God committed the care of people and of everything under heaven to angels whom he appointed over them. But the angels disobeyed this appointment, and were captivated by the love of girls, and produced kids who are people who are called demons; and not only that, they later subdued the humankind for themselves, partly by magical writings, and partly by fears and the punishments they induced, and partly by teaching them to offer sacrifices, incense, and libations, as it was this stuff they stood in need once they were enslaved by lustful passions. And among humanity they sowed murders, wars, adulteries, immoderate deeds, and every one wickedness."
Clement of Alexandria, Miscellanies 5.1.ten stated, "To the present additionally we shall add, that the angels who had obtained the superior rank, having sunk into pleasures, told the ladies the secrets that had come back to their knowledge."
Jude mentions "going once a totally different flesh", and punishment of angels. Jude quotes 1 Enoch one:nine in verses 14-15. 1 Enoch six-ten states that two hundred angels (The Watchers) came to earth, lusted when human ladies causing "defilement" and producing progeny. 1 Enoch states that the Watchers taught to humans, among alternative things, sorceries, enchantments, and therefore the binding of enchantments. Tertullian, Ladies, 1.two stated that angels fell through lust for ladies and referred to their progeny as a "additional wicked demon-brood".
The Testament of Naphtali 3.3.4-5 states that the ladies of Sodom had sex with angels. It states, "In like manner also the Watchers changed the order of their nature, whom also the Lord cursed at the flood, and for their sakes created desolate the world, that it should be uninhabited and fruitless." Note the term "changed the order of their nature" which is kind of like Jude's term, "went after totally different flesh" and to Paul's statement, "for the females exchanged natural sex for what is other than nature. And the identical goes for males too," in Romans 1:26. Nowadays this can be usually wrongly assumed to be relating homosexuality, but was in fact concerning the union of angels with humans, for which precisely Sodom was destroyed.
