Ask 100 folks and you get a hundred totally different stories about friendship.
For some individuals, creating friends is as straightforward and natural as breathing. For others, it is much more difficult. They're completely different in some method, and either can't or won't match in with the individuals around them.
Such folks with few or no friends run the risk of leading lonely, sad lives. I would wish to share a story with you concerning such folks, and the way they found friends and happiness.
And in the process discovered that friendships are indeed a lot of valuable than money.
This story is concerning my friends little sister, Eleanor. Eleanor may be a massive girl. Today, she weighs 425 pounds. Although her family didn't find out till long after this story, she encompasses a medical condition called insulin resistance, that means she constantly gains weight, and it is very difficult, if not not possible, for her to lose weight.
Being thus fat set her other than the other youngsters at college, and she or he quickly learned it was easier just to avoid them. For a while, she seemed doomed to spend her college years sitting on the edge of the playground reading a book whereas everyone else laughed and played during recess.
Then one summer during junior high, she auditioned for a summer child's play, 'Finian's Rainbow', and won the lead role.
Eleanor is terribly talented. She's terribly energetic, terribly artistic, very funny, a smart actor, and wow... can she sing! But being during this play meant she would be in daily contact with a bunch of strangers for 6 weeks, and she or he was terribly self-aware about her weight. She was worried if the other children would tease her, like her schoolmates did, and particularly worried regarding jealous actresses who had lost out the lead role to her.
However theater and acting attracts a bound type of person-a person who wishes they were somebody else. The kids who auditioned for the summer play were all different in their own ways in which, whether or not it wasn't obvious. They tended not to choose on others who were completely different, as a result of they themselves were totally different, and all they really wished was to be allowed to be different without fear of persecution. So most of them didn't judge her on her weight, however on her temperament and talent.
Currently Eleanor is understandably terribly back, but once you get to recognize her, she may be a terribly sweet girl. Her fellow actors were quick to get this. As Eleanor proceeded to hit all the high notes, nimbly dance the Irish Jig despite her weight, and make the audience each cry or roar with laughter, she earned her fellow actors' respect. Because the forged of the play enjoyed time together, each in the theater and out of doors at cast parties, Eleanor discovered that she suddenly had a massive circle of friends.
In fact, the play eventually ended. Therefore you would possibly assume there would be no more stories regarding friendship for Eleanor, except unhappy stories.
But you would be wrong.
The social structure that had brought Eleanor and her friends together had vanished. However Eleanor wouldn't be discouraged thus simply, not now that she had finally created a circle of friends for the primary time in her life.
Thus she borrowed a video camera and got her friends together to make an amateur movie. They made many amateur movies together all though high college and into faculty, and had a blast doing it.
That summer play was over fifteen years ago, and Eleanor's friends have graduated, married, and scattered to the four winds. But several of the friends Eleanor created that summer are still her good friends today, thanks largely to the fashionable marvel of email and therefore the internet.
They understood the importance of friendship, they realized you cannot choose a book by its cowl, they wanted the advantages of friendship, therefore they opened their hearts to 1 another.
