A lot of starting authors think there's a magic "formula" for writing romance fiction. This may be thanks to the series romances like Harlequin which appear to follow specific guidelines. Actually some of those series novels do have some guide sheets you'll ask for however there's not one formula that encompasses all of romance writing, and nothing that you'll be able to follow that can guarantee fame and fortune as an author.
Even the "formula" series novels are a ton harder to write than they seem to be when reading them. Ask anyone who has sat before a blank sheet of paper with "chapter one" written on it.
It is also a typical misconception that readers of romantic novels belong to a bound age group or demographic. Girls of all ages (and men too) scan these books.
Anyway, the first thing you would like to do to urge started writing is merely that....get started. But it is also what most people realize the hardest, most troublesome factor concerning writing. They simply cannot get going!
So to get you going on your method to a successful writing career, try this exercise. Realize a magazine or newspaper or a box of old photos, however they must be individuals you don't know. If it is your family photos, it will not work. If your parents or grandparents have an old box of photos with individuals you do not understand, that will work perfectly. You'll be able to raise friends as well. If you cannot realize any images you'll use a magazine or newspaper.
If using the latter, cut various footage out. Realize those that appear attention-grabbing with more than one person within the frame. If using photos, simply pick out a number of them that are fascinating to you.
Currently, go ahead and take one among them and offer them names, and then write a short story about them based on what you can see within the photo. Use your imagination. Provide them a background and a reason for being in their current situation.
You will be amazed at how much your imagination can be engaged simply from trying at a "real" picture instead of making an attempt to think of things in your head. Do this exercise anytime you are feeling stuck, or perhaps build it a ritual and do it every morning before you begin writing (or evening if you are an evening owl). This is a great manner to be told how to put in writing a romance novel or any alternative type of novel. Keep a file of these short stories you write as exercises, and you may be in a position to use them later in your manuscript.
