Advaita Vedanta is one amongst the three main faculties of Vedanta Philosophy. Vedanta philosophy is based on the Vedantas, the Upanishads of the Vedas. They are the oldest of the religious literature extant these days and are additional than 5000 years old.
There are 3 main faculties of Vedanta philosophy:
Dvaita or dualism: During this college, the Absolute or Brahman and the globe including our soul are thought of two separate and distinct realities with no association between the 2, Brahman is the higher reality.
Vishista-dvaita or qualified monism: In this, the globe is taken into account to emanate from the Absolute Brahman and the world is an effect of Brahman, sort of a web from a spider. So though the globe is emanated from Brahman and may be a half of it, it's a lower type of Brahman.
Advaita or Monism: this can be the final school of Vedanta, and is considered the foremost intellectual school. During this the fact of the world is denied and the only existence is that of Brahman.
In Advaita Vedanta, Brahman is considered to be the basis of both the objects of the planet and the topic, our consciousness. The truth of both the topic and the thing is denied and the only real existence is that of Brahman.
In considering the objects of the globe, all phenomena of the globe exist in time and house and are subject to the laws of causation. The traditional sages through logic arrived at the conclusion that there was no fixed time, since we generally tend to might not outline time itself absolutely. Space conjointly could not be defined, and since objects and so the phenomena of causation exist in time and area, all objects have solely relative reality. In modern science additionally, we generally tend to apprehend from the law of relativity that point and house have no absolute reality, and as a result of of this, causation conjointly has no absolute relativity since to an observer traveling near the speed of light, cause and effect of any phenomena would be abundant totally different from the cause and effect seen by an observer at rest. The simultaneity of events would be different for any phenomena for different observers. Hence science has confirmed Advaita Vedanta during this respect, that objects and phenomena have solely relative reality.
But Advaita says, things cannot have only relative reality through and through. Since there is existence of the world, there should be an absolute reality at the base to support this relative reality.
This absolute reality at the base of the existence of the globe is Brahman.
In the same method, Advaita Vedanta says that our individual consciousness at the superficial level has solely relative reality. Our individual consciousness is but a stream of thoughts and sensations one succeeding the other, and there is no reality at this level. However there must be an absolute reality at the base of this consciousness, otherwise we tend to wouldn't have had consciousness.
This Absolute reality at the bottom of our consciousness is Brahman.
So in Advaita Vedanta, each the objects and subject have solely an ambiguous reality and no true existence, and it is only the Absolute Brahman as the basis of both that incorporates a true existence.
The aim of spirituality is to expertise this state of existence in Brahmanhood. By bringing to a halt the stream of thoughts-sensations of our consciousness, we tend to will still our consciousness and then we tend to can exist as Brahman itself, which was continuously and can continually be our true identity. This is often the ultimate goal for the Advaitin.
