An outdoor activity like camping brings out the kid in all of us. There is a different feeling about going inside the family tents and slipping inside the sleeping bags for a noise-free good night. If your family loves to do outdoor adventure but have not tried beach camping, you are missing a lot. Before the summer ends head off to the nearest beach and set up camp there. However, before doing that, make sure you bring enough camping supplies for beach camping. Make a checklist so you will not forget anything.
Beach camping is almost similar to any type of camping except that you need additional things to make it more enjoyable. Bring the right amount and type of sunscreen. You also need swimsuits, sunglasses, and hats, lip balm water toys for the little kids and water sport equipment for the adults. It is also best to bring old rubber shoes for wading in the shores. It can protect your from sharp objects in the beach. Bring lots of beach towels for everyone and make sure you have a doormat outside your family tents. This will protect it from bringing sand inside or get wet.
Before you visit the camping store for your camping supplies, make sure you check your portable camping stove or grill so you can buy the necessary gas or fuel tank to make it work. You can either let your kids help you cook as a form of bonding or have it all ready and waiting for them when they get back from their playing. By the way, make sure you know where to pitch the family tents. You do not want to get wet when it is high tide. Make some research on your beach destination. There can be altering shorelines in most flat beaches. Some can even alter for a mile or more. It is best to check the weather to see if it is the appropriate time to go for beach camping. Find a tide chart to understand it better.
Prepare your lanterns and flashlights. Be sure to place new batteries inside them so they are ready to use during the evening. Try making s'mores at night with the kids. Nothing beats listening to the calming waves along with the family singing at night before going to sleep. It would surely be another memorable camping night for the whole family. Expect some light breeze at night so bring jackets for everyone preferably hoodies. During the planning stage, ask for different camping accessories or gadgets for beach camping when you are getting your camping supplies from the camping store. You might discover new camping equipment that is just appropriate for a beach camping.
Lastly, do not venture to the water alone. It does not matter if you are a good swimmer or not. Make sure someone is with your. Accidents do happen to the best of us. Also, do not forget many garbage plastic bags so you will not leave any trace of food around and will leave the area just as you have found it. Respect the environment so it will respect you back.
